BAR Membership isn’t just a pay-as-you-go scheme. Registered movers need to earn the right to display the BAR badge on their trucks, collateral or website. That’s not easy to do! In order to become a BAR Member removal companies have to pass a set criteria to meet the high standards of existing Members. There’s a stringent Code of Practice (approved by the Trading Standards Institute) to adhere to and they have to pass an extensive external audit each year.

What are the benefits of using a BAR Member?

• The BAR Advanced Payment Guarantee When you move, within the UK or abroad, the general practice is to pay your removal company in advance. • Free Dispute Resolution Service In the unlikely event that there is a problem with your move, BAR use an external, independent body for dispute resolution. Complaints against a BAR Member are exclusively handled by The Furniture & Home Improvement Ombudsman (FHIO), an approved Consumer ADR body under the Alternative Dispute Resolution for Consumer Disputes (Competent Authorities and Information) Regulations 2015.
